EXPECTATIONS:
There are a few things about the web that I
would like to bring to your attention. Most people expect the web to
produce sales right away. From experience, it is possible but it will
not necessarily replace your current mode of doing business. It is
important to understand that a web site is just a part of your marketing
package and is a tool that can help direct your clientele closer to a
sale. I recommend you continue to promote your business as you always
have, but include your address on all advertising.
A FEW GOOD IDEAS:
- Keep your site simple. Notice this site is
only six pages with twenty two images.
- Keep the text to the minimum necessary to
convey your message.
- Don't overload your site with too many
pictures. Keep in mind we are in an image driven business and the
power of the image is everything on the web so try to choose your
strongest images.
- Avoid flashy gimmicks that distract the
viewer.
- Use a color scheme you like and that
compliments your work.
- Think in terms of your site being a
reflection of you. Text and images that make the viewer feel as if
they have touched your life make their visit more personal. If the
viewer is comfortable with you they are more likely to contact you.
INCLUDED WITH ALL SITES:
- Domain
name registration for the first year. After that you will be
billed $10.00 annually. I will bill you when your domain is
about to expire so I can renew it for you, you will not have to
worry or monitor your domain name.
- Hosting Fee is $8.00 per month
billed in 6 month periods of $48.00.
- Host set up fee.
- 100 megabytes of high-speed server space. You
will be billed $8.00 per month in six month billing periods. Note: Price subject to change.
- Your personal spam-protected e-mail address
(you@yourname.com).
- Quick loading pages.
- High quality optimized images.
- Easy navigation.
- Graphics that reflect your work. These are
the page logos I build which are actually jpg pictures.
- Initial submission of your site to major
search engines.
- Thumbnail Gallery (small pictures) that
links to detailed larger picture pages if this format is what you
want. It allows the viewer to quickly scan your pieces, then click on
an image for a larger detail version.
WHAT YOU NEED TO PROVIDE:
- All text must be supplied electronically, either on a disk, CD, or by e-mail
attachment in Microsoft Word Document format. Make sure all
text has been edited to your approval. E-mail me if you wish to
contact a professional editor.
- While digital images (jpg) are preferred
I can work with 8 X 10 prints or smaller, 35mm slides. Digital images
(jpg) can be provided to me on CD or e-mailed to me as
attachments.
PRICING:
The best way to establish pricing is to give
you a quote based on our meeting and looking over your pictures and text. I
would like to have a good idea of the number of images you will want
included and the graphics I need to build with a vision of your
expectations. These factors all come into play when trying to quote a
price. I have two packages listed below. These are quite specific and
you may choose one of these instead.
WEB SITE PACKAGES:
Essential Package:
$500.00, 10 html pages, 17 images (includes 4 logos):
- HOME page with custom graphic logo with one
of your images. Hit counter and date the site is posted.
- GALLERY page with six thumbnail images that
link to individual product pages with a larger version of the
thumbnail image and detail information. Custom made page logo.
- ARTIST page, which can include any text
information you want. This page could include an artist’s statement,
resume or show schedule. Custom made page logo. One small image of
your work (image of your choice from your thumbnail gallery).
- CONTACT page includes all the necessary information on how you can be
contacted, an image of you, custom made page logo.
- Copyright information, e-mail link on all
pages.
Professional Package:
$900.00, 18 html pages, 34 images (includes 5 logos):
- HOME page with custom graphic logo with one
of your images. Hit counter and date the site is posted.
- GALLERY page with twelve thumbnail images
that link to individual product pages with a larger version of the
thumbnail image and detail information. Custom made page logo.
- ARTIST page, which can include any text
information you want. This page could include an artists statement,
resume or show schedule. Custom made page logo. One small image of
your work (image of your choice from your thumbnail gallery).
- CONTACT page includes all the necessary information on how you can be
contacted, an image of you, custom made page logo.
- STUDIO / GALLERY page, includes three images
of your choice such as you working, pieces in progress, your booth, or
interior Gallery pictures. A reasonable amount of text describing
your studio or Gallery.
- ORDER FORM: This page is a printable order
form that your customer can print, fill out and mail or FAX to you
with payment. There will be links to this page on your thumbnail
gallery page as well as all of the detail pages.
- Copyright information, e-mail link on all
pages.
NOTE:
Maintenance and technical support are billed on an hourly basis at
$35.00 per hour. Both packages can be added to (pictures and text) and billed at the hourly rate.
TERMS: Once we have agreed to a price
50% is due upon receiving all of your information. Payment can be made
with a personal check, money order, or Visa/Mastercard. |
